Last March 13, 2009, Filipino Fashion Designer Angelino Boyet Fajardo created a scene, to the shock and horror of shoppers and employees of Duty Free Philippines alike, when a cashier politely asked for his ID after presenting his unsigned credit card. This is a standard operating procedure applicable to all stores to verify ownership of the credit card and prevent fraud.

Suddenly, the designer reportedly got furious and, at the top of his voice, started berating the cashiers and managers of Duty Free Philippines. He might have thought a celebrated person like he is, with all his accolades and fame, has gone unrecognized by the cashier. A new well-trained casual worker who is carefully doing his job. The designer further shocked bystanders by cursing the people there with words such as leche and p…ina, while angrily expressing surprise why the people there did not recognize him.

Store managers and officers were sought to appease the matter, explaining to him that it is all included as a standard operating procedure in credit card payment for the safety, not only for the company but also his own. Ignoring all this, he pulled out his phone and threatened to call on high positioned government officials whom he allegedly knew, like doing a power-play to make these people realize how important he is. He went on saying “Mga leche kayo! Hindi niyo ako kilala? Ako si Boyet Fajardo! At itong p…ina na babaeng ito (pointing to a lady officer) at ang baklang ito (pointing to the cashier) ay walang kwentang mga tao! I want them fired!!!”

His yelling and berating went on and on. He cannot calm down and as he appeared to have bloodshot eyes, like that of a drunk person and or under an influence. He threw his passport on the cashier’s face and later intentionally stepped on the cashier’s foot to say “Ay sorry, di ko sinasadya!” He goes on to say, that only if the cashier kneel down before him and/or allow him to freely slap the cashier’s face, may he get satisfied.

The ill-fated cashier, with all the onlookers watching, stand down and just simply gave in to probably he thought would end the matter. Crying in shame he slowly knelt down and apologize (for actually doing his job) before this self proclaimed GOD, perhaps for fear of loosing his job. No slapping was made to the cashier’s face but the incident landed a harsher and reverberating sound to the faces of the lesser people of this society.

Fortunately, his inhumane acts were caught on CCTV in which a portion was featured in YouTube. (N.B.: It was also shown on TVP World last March 23)

With such disrespect, discrimination and humiliation towards a good worker, a less fortunate person and a fellow Filipino…

1. We are calling all citizens to stop patronizing Boyet Fajardo’s RTW labels such as Substance in SM department stores, Boyet Fajardo and Initials in Landmark and Robinson’s department stores.
2. We are calling on all malls to pull out or stop distributing his products in your outlets.
4. We are calling on the Commission on Human Rights, Department of Labor and Employment and all human rights and labor activists to take appropriate legal actions on this matter.
5. We are calling all foreign embassies to deny him of entry to your respective countries.
6. We are calling on the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines to dishonor him of his membership and profession.

…To give him a lesson and to help us stop him from victimizing the underprivileged over and over and over again.

This is sick! Slowly killing a dog for art?! WTF! Why doesn’t this artist just shove his art up his sadistic arse!

Here’s a letter posted in PAWS…

Hi all,

this is a very serious matter…

In the 2007, the ‘artist’ Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, he tied him to a rope in an art gallery, starving him to death.

For several days, the ‘artist’ and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful ‘masterpiece’ based on the dog’s agony, until eventually he died.

Does it look like art to you?

But this is not all … the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the ‘installation’ was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008.

Let’s STOP HIM!!!!!

MANILA, Philippines — Where’s the connection between Michael Jackson and inmates from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center?View it on YouTube.Millions of people around the world had already viewed a video uploaded on the popular web site that showed more than a thousand Cebu inmates performing the famous zombie dance from the 1984 music video of Jackson’s monster hit “Thriller”.As of 10:44 p.m. Manila time Wednesday, the video has been viewed 1,152,025 times.Their well-coordinated yet rip-roaring routine, apparently part of a recent program from within the prison facility, had landed on popular US entertainment television shows, including newscasts from E! Television on Wednesday. The video was uploaded by Byron Garcia, security consultant of the Cebu Provincial Government and brother of Cebu governor Gwendolyn Garcia. It can be viewed using this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMnk7lh9M3oThe Cebu inmates had also performed several other numbers similarly accessible on YouTube. The Jollibee Scandal Feat. Official Statement From the Company October 26, 2006

Dear Parents,

We regret to inform you that a video depicting our well-loved
Jollibee mascots in a distasteful situation is now circulating
online. The material is obviously no more than someone’s idea of a
senseless amusement. Yet we cannot ignore the equally obvious risk
of its effect on our children.

Jollibee created the mascot for kids, their wholesome fun and
carefree innocence. We’ve worked hard and unceasingly for the mascot
to earn your kids’ trust and love. It would be so sad to have all
this swept away by one mindless prank.

We will not let this pass, neither will we let it happen again. Be
assured we are taking all necessary steps to bring the culprits into
account. One thing we know we can count on is your support in
countering this threat.

Please help us spread the word that this corrupting material should
not be passed on any further. This simple act of control will go a
long way in protecting our children.

We apologize for any offense this incident may have caused, and
thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,

JOHN VICTOR TENCE

Filipino call center agent found guilty of hacking May 22, 2006

May 22, 2006

A 22-year-old former call center agent faces imprisonment after pleading guilty to charges of hacking into his company's system to steal credit card information.

Jeffric Carlos Abiera was sentenced on May 4 by the Quezon City metropolitan court to a minimum imprisonment of one to two years plus a fine of P100,000 (US$5,858) in violation of section 33 of the E-Commerce Law.

According to a resolution filed by State Prosecutor Geronimo Sy, Abiera was able to break into the computer system of the credit card company affiliated with his former employer Sitel Philippines Corp.

Abiera was able to gain access to a database maintained by Sitel's sister firm in the United States and, using an internal IP address, proceeded to purchase goods online using various credit cards.

Fastnet Communications Inc., a local company that operates e-commerce sites www.pinasgift.com and www.philgrocer.com, lodged a complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after recording fraudulent credit card transactions from December last year to January, whose deliveries had a common recipient in a certain "Jeff Carlos" of San Juan, Metro Manila.

The orders were made using a single IP address, which was traced by the NBI to Sitel's US office. Sitel's local office is located at the Eastwood Cyberzone in Libis, Quezon City.

A review of the workstation assigned to Abiera showed an internal IP address logged on to the phone adjacent to the computer at the time the orders were placed. He was also identified by a messenger from Fastnet as the one who received the initial two deliveries.

The NBI later on conducted an entrapment operation on the third delivery, which led to Abiera's arrest.

According to the complaint sheet filed by FastNet, different orders amounting to more than $2,000 were traced to the particular IP address, using different credit cards but with the same recipient. These orders were subsequently cancelled upon the advice of FastNet's third-party credit card processing company.

State Prosecutor Sy lauded the government's second conviction of violations against RA 8792. The first one involved JJ Maria Gener, who was convicted for a similar violation last September after pleading guilty of hacking into government portal gov.ph.

"There are 25 more cases in the pipeline involving violations against the E-Commerce Law," Sy said in an interview.

Subject: Security Advisory / Hold-up and Abduction

Last February 05,2006 Paul Garcia Ramos( Sykes employee based in RS ) was held-up and abducted for 5 hours .

It was a Saturday around 7:45 AM, and he was on his way home waiting for a taxi cab infront of Teazann( Tea House ) Valero Street near Mini Stop convenience store at the back of Robinson's Summit when a man in jacket approached him , ask what time it was, and without warning punched him on the left cheek. Another man came from behind, pointed a gun at his back, announced a hold-up and told him not to resist. The other man signalled a car waiting near Mini Stop to pick them up. The car was an old, rusty copper-colored Beetle Volkswagon( 70's model ) with heavy tint . The Beetle only had a drivers seat and a back seat ( the front passenger seat was removed ).

Once inside the Beetle, he was sandwiched by the two men at the back seat. Paul noticed foils used as drug paraphernalia and liqour bottles scattered inside. He also saw a bagful of mobile phones, one ingram assault weapon and three revolvers. The three barely spoke in Tagalog and used a local dialect Paul could not comprehend. When Paul would ask a question, the two men would elbow him and tell him to shut up.The men took his wallet and driver's license and ask him to withdraw from his ATM account. The car went in circles along Makati area for hours. Paul was asked to alight in one of the ATM machines located in Buendia and he withdrew the remaining savings from his account. The two men did not go into the machine area probably to avoid the ATM's CCTV camera. At around 1 PM , he was released by the group at EDSA corner Buendia and given fifty pesos ( Php50.00 ) for his transportation home .

According to Paul's description, the three men were between 25- 27 years old, wore maong and slacks and were in decent polo shirts( Paul perceive them as belonging to the middle income group). The three were between 5'9"- 5'10" in height. Two of them were about 170-180 pounds, while the other one weigh only about 120 pounds. From their conversations, Paul heard the three call each other by the following names: Raymond, Alex, and Boyet .

The plate number of the Beetle( NDX 189 ) was traced to a Toyota FX vehicle (asian utility van ) registered in SouthCotabato.

Again, we reiterate that there is nothing safer than looking after one's personal safety by being security conscious and vigilant.
